It is our policy to ensure that each person who adopts a pet is aware of the responsibilities of pet ownership. We have fostered these animals in our own homes, and this is our opportunity to get to know you as a potential adopter and to assist you in selecting a pet that would best suit you and your home environment. A cat can live 15-20 years or more on average. Hundreds of thousands of animals are killed each year at shelters because their owners did not consider their future. You are making a life-long commitment when you adopt a pet. Please consider it as if you were adopting a child. We have a responsibility to place each pet in a permanent, loving “forever home”.

Disclaimer: By signing this agreement I am affirming that I fully understand the responsibilities and the commitment I am undertaking by adopting this pet. The adoption fee pays for the spaying/neutering of my pet as well as the required two health shots, deworming, checking/removing ear mites, fleas and trimming of nails. If the animal I am adopting has not been spayed/neutered I understand I will take my pet to the designated vet for altering. I understand my pet is represented to be healthy and free of disease, however, there are some medical conditions that can only be diagnosed by a qualified veterinarian. I hold harmless this adopting agency for any undiagnosed disease or condition my pet may have at the time of adoption or thereafter. Any vet costs over and above the adopting agency deposit amount is my responsibility. I understand the need for regular veterinary health checks as well as providing timely emergency vet care and treatment. Should the animal become sick or injured I will provide all treatment necessary. I understand there is always some risk in handling any animal, and I undertake to assume all liability for the animal and any damage or injury it may cause to myself or anyone else. In so doing I release the adopting agency from any and all liability once I take possession of this animal. I certify that I am fully prepared to introduce this animal into my home and have taken all the necessary precautions to ensure its safety and well-being. I affirm that the animal will always be kept indoors and/or will be kept comfortably and safely confined or be on a leash and under control at all times. I will undertake to immediately provide identification for the animal by means of micro chipping, collar with ID tags, or other acceptable proof of ownership in the event that animal ever becomes lost or stolen. Should I ever become unable to care for this animal for any reason I promise to first contact this adopting agency before relinquishing the animal to any other household, rescue group or animal shelter. *
