Thank you to everyone who has donated to help us with these kitties. We have raised about 2/3 of the money needed. We are still feeding and vetting all of them in preparation for adoption or transfer. At least an additional $2,000 is necessary to cover expenses for this month and next. YOUR help is greatly needed and deeply appreciated!
We do not want to turn our back on cats and kittens in need, but our manpower and financial resources are limited. Sometimes, we take a leap of faith and get out on a limb to take on a particularly dire situation when no one else will. OILDALE PROJECT (Bakersfield, CA): A trailer park located in an area of town notorious for being overrun with cats and dogs has our attention. Cats and older kittens, underweight but relatively healthy, are being TNRd and taken to Critters w/o Litters for sterilization and vaccinations thru the Kern County program.
OBJECTIVE: AVERT STARVATION. STOP REPRODUCTION!
About two dozen kittens and a few adult cats have been removed from the site and placed in foster care. Most of these are in need of some measure of medical care. URI and ringworm are rampant.
OBJECTIVE: PROTECT & FEED. GET THEM HEALTHY. FIND HOMES. STOP REPRODUCTION!
We have incurred substantial costs already for food and gas to transport the TNRs and rescues. There will be further costs to vet the cats and kittens we have in foster care, in addition to ongoing food purchases. Most of the fostered cats and kittens will go thru our regular vetting process to get them ready for loving forever homes.

SPAY/NEUTER, MICROCHIPS, RABIES VACCINATIONS, AND TESTING: We have 30 other kittens rescued over the past couple of months from under dumpsters, stifling garages, street gutters, and bushes who are ready for the remainder of their vetting. They will be done in 3 groups starting November 15th. When completed, they will be available for adoption here or via transfer to another rescue organization outside of Bakersfield.
